This site is full of traditional French songs, with the words and music in MIDI files which are quick to download. A fun way for children to learn tunes to sing and some French along the way.

Energy in the air
A young person's online guide to the orchestra, it describes each instrument, provides sound clips of its music, and explains how to make some basic noise-making devices.

English National Opera (ENO)
The ENO site gives details about the company, upcoming performances and education programmes - including the Enjoy Opera for Schools low price ticket scheme.

National Association of Music Educators

An interesting concept with its series of online tutorials by a music teacher. Uses QuickTime video and audio, and step-by-step instructions. Helpful for reinforcing music lessons.

The Musicland
The Musicland has the potential to become a very useful resource. Tests and lesson plans for KS3 onwards are among the resources, but the site demands an email address before it will let you see them.

Royal Opera House
This site is packed with information about opera, ballet and orchestral work. There are sections about the history of the opera house, the works and forthcoming events. The Learning section offers background information, practical ideas and workshop packs on different operas.
